Artwork Submission Guidelines

To ensure the highest quality output for your UV and DTF personalized products, please follow these technical specifications. High-quality input equals high-performance output.

1. Accepted File Formats

We prioritize lossless formats that preserve transparency and detail.

  • Preferred: .PNG (High-resolution with transparent background)

  • Vector (Best for Logos): .PDF, (Ensure all fonts are converted to outlines/curves)

  • Other Accepted: .PSD, SVG, WEBP, AI

  • Not Recommended: .JPEG or .JPG (These formats do not support transparency and often contain compression artifacts).

2. Resolution & Scale

  • Minimum Resolution: 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) at the final print size.

  • Scale: Set your artboard to the exact physical dimensions you want printed (e.g., if you want a 3-inch decal, your file should be 3 inches wide at 300 DPI).

  • Avoid Upscaling: Taking a low-resolution 72 DPI image from the web and increasing the size will result in a blurry, pixelated print.

3. Color Mode & Profiles

Our RIP (Raster Image Processor) software is optimized for digital vibrancy.

  • Color Mode: RGB (sRGB IEC61966-2.1) is preferred for maximum color gamut.

  • Note on CMYK: While we print using CMYK+White inks, designing in RGB allows our software to utilize the widest range of colors before conversion.

  • Vibrancy Tip: Avoid extremely thin gradients or “glow” effects that fade into 0% opacity, as the white ink underbase requires a solid edge for proper adhesion.

4. Design Constraints for UV DTF

  • Transparency: Your file must have a transparent background. Any white pixels in your design will be printed with white ink.

  • Minimum Line Thickness: 0.025 inches (0.6mm). Lines thinner than this may not have enough surface area for the adhesive to bond correctly to the substrate.

  • Small Gaps: Ensure gaps between design elements are at least 0.025 inches to prevent “filling in” during the printing process.

5. Substrate Preparation (For DIY Transfers)

If you are ordering UV DTF transfers to apply yourself, please ensure your surface is:

  1. Non-Porous: Glass, metal, hard plastic, or sealed wood.

  2. De-Greased: Clean the area thoroughly with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove fingerprints and oils.

  3. Dry: Ensure no moisture remains, as this will prevent the UV adhesive from bonding.

Pre-Flight Checklist

Before uploading, ask yourself:

  • [ ] Is my background transparent?

  • [ ] Is my resolution at least 300 DPI?

  • [ ] Are my fonts converted to outlines?

  • [ ] Are my lines thick enough to stick?

UV DTF Application Guide

Congratulations on your Wadadli Creations custom transfer! Our UV DTF (Direct-to-Film) technology creates a permanent, “raised-ink” finish that is waterproof and scratch-resistant. To ensure a professional-grade bond, please follow these technical application steps.

Phase 1: Surface Preparation

The longevity of your transfer depends entirely on the cleanliness of the substrate.

  • Approved Surfaces: Glass, Metal, Hard Plastics, Sealed Wood, Acrylic, and Ceramic.

  • Cleaning: Use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and a lint-free microfiber cloth to remove all oils, fingerprints, and dust.

  • Temperature: Ensure the substrate is at room temperature ($20\text{°C}$ to $25\text{°C}$). Cold surfaces can cause the adhesive to become brittle during application.

Phase 2: The Application Process

UV DTF transfers consist of three layers: the Carrier Sheet (clear top), the UV Ink/Adhesive, and the Backing Paper(white/opaque).

  1. Squeegee First: Lay the transfer on a flat surface. Use a felt-tipped squeegee or a credit card to firmly rub the clear carrier sheet. This ensures the design is fully bonded to the transfer tape.

  2. The Peel: Slowly peel the white backing paper away from the clear carrier sheet at a $180\text{°}$ angle.

    • Tip: If the design stays on the backing paper, lay it back down, squeegee again, and re-peel.

  3. Positioning: Carefully align your design over the substrate. Caution: The adhesive is extremely strong and permanent. Once it touches the surface, it cannot be repositioned.

  4. The Bond: Press the center of the design down first, then work your way outward to the edges. Use firm, consistent pressure with your thumb or a squeegee to remove all air bubbles.

  5. The Final Reveal: Slowly peel the clear carrier sheet away at a sharp angle. If any part of the design lifts, stop immediately, press it back down, rub firmly, and try again.

Phase 3: Curing & Aftercare

While the bond is instant, the adhesive “sets” over the first 24 hours.

  • Immediate Use: You can handle the item immediately, but avoid picking at the edges of the print.

  • Washing: Wait 24 hours before exposing the item to water.

  • Durability Standards: * Hand Wash Only: We do not recommend dishwashers, as high-heat cycles can eventually degrade the bond.

    • No Microwaves: Do not microwave items with UV DTF transfers.

    • UV Resistance: Our inks are UV-cured and will not fade in the Florida sun.
